Little Crimes

This painting was inspired by a poem written by one of my dearest friends, where he illustrates the way that some memories or emotions weigh on us, and sometimes we can literally feel their effects on our bodies.

My friend called them "little crimes", and the poem captures the moment where we decide to pluck those smooth marbles from inside of us and decide if we want to throw them away or keep some as jewelry.

I wish I could add the poem here, but it isn't in English, and as the Japanese poet in Paterson (2016) said: "Poetry in translation is like taking a shower with a raincoat on."
